Professor
Vladimir Krainev Piano Vladimir
Krainev possesses that rare combination of the talent of a world-class pianist
and that of a wonderfully communicative teacher, he himself having been taught
at the Moscow Conservatory by the legendary Heinrich Neuhaus. Having
won the first prize in piano at the 1970 Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, he
is now professor at the Musik Hochschule in Hanover and a jury member of several
competitions including the Leeds, Clara Haskil, Chopin, Tchaikovsky and, most
recently in September 2005, the Hong Kong International Piano Competition. In
addition to his teaching duties he concertises widely across the world. His
discography is extensive, with pride of place going to several recordings of all
five Prokofievs piano concertos, as well as Mozarts piano concertos among
others. Most recently he has recorded several of Chopins works. In
1992 Professor Krainev established in Kharkov, his birthplace, an international
competition for young pianists as well as a charitable foundation to help young
pianists. Professor
Alexander Rudin Cello Professor
Rudin was born in Moscow and showed his musical talent at a very early age,
graduating from the prestigious Gnessin Institute as cellist and pianist and
later on from the Moscow Conservatory as a conductor. His diverse talents and
interests, however, are focused on the cello, winning prizes in several
prestigious international competitions including the Gaspar Cassado and the
Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow (1982, second prize). In 2002 he was invited
by the Tchaikovsky Competition to chair the cello section for that year.
Professor Rudin teaches now at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow but also
concertises in numerous countries both as a cello soloist and in chamber groups.
He also leads an active career as a conductor with symphonic and chamber
orchestras in various countries. His
discography is extensive and includes all of Bachs solo cello suites.
